Note: Tom joined the forum on this site in 2011 (user tomclegg) and posted, "I wrote a clone called "Yams" in 1990-92 (someone got me hooked on it in high school but I had an Atari ST instead of a PC clone so I had to write my own). There is supposed to be a Help function called "Green Thumb" but this file is missing. Same 3 levels and mouse behaviour as standard. Instead of mines you must find all the bugs that want to eat your yams. Please contact if you have the English original. NOTE: In Gemulator, chording does not work because pressing both buttons exits the emulator. The sounds effects were copied by 'The Ultimate Minesweeper' clone. Noteable feature is the multi-coloured cells. Highscore list keeps the best score for each level. There are 10 difficulty levels ranging from 10x10 with 10 mines to 30x20 with 99 mines. There is a large Helpfile in German but the game is in English. You can increase the grid up to 50x100 depending on your screen display software.

Press F1 to access the options menu, where you can choose how to flag, whether to show empty squares with the number 0 and choose the grid size and density. A score is given depending on what level you reached and how many mines correctly found. It starts with low density and each time you win you move up one difficulty level (more mines). Game acknowledges Bombs already existed (different programmer) for the Minesweeper Games (Mac) When the game is lost all flags are replaced with mines. Standard 3 levels and mouse behaviour except no Chording (but it does allow the Windows trick of flagging by holding SHIFT while clicking the left button). NOTE: Sound effects did not work in Gemulator. Works in Lo-Res mode on the Atari Falcon. If you win, the number of mines is increased. Default level is 25 mines but if you lose your next game has fewer mines (25 less the number of mines you found before losing). You are allowed up to 10 Hints, just press and H button and it will mark a safe square. Grid is 12x12 and you start by clicking on the square marked with an "S" which gives you an opening. NOTE 2: Game works perfectly in Steem, but in Gemulator graphics are too small to use. NOTE 1: Cy Booker cloned this game for RISC OS. It is a clone of Clayton Walnum's Demolition Man. Game only works in Low-Res or Med-Res mode. Help function opens a safe square but costs you 2 seconds on the clock. Flags turn squares red, Questionmarks turn squares green. Left click to open squares, press SHIFT and left click to flag, and left click twice to Chord. File originally Shareware.ĭownload: Search And Destroy 1.0 (.PRG) 1991 There are some sound effects but no Highscores. Flags and Questionmarks can be placed with right clicks. The hardest 2 levels have a hidden X-Ray cheat - if you click on the X-Ray you will see all mine locations for 1 or 2 seconds. Just remember that I can't guarantee that it won't permanently damage your machine (not that I think that there's anyway it could but I still have to say it, nonetheless).Levels are 10x10 (15 mines), 10x14 (21 mines) and 10x18 (28 mines).

Please feel free to try it out if you have Jaguar installed and let me know how it plays. Note: It says the minimum requirements is 10.3 or later but I only say that because I don't have a 10.2 machine to test it on. So rather than complain endlessly about them, I decided to write my own and get exactly what I wanted in a Minesweeper game. This project came about because I was unhappy with all the other Minesweeper offerings for OSX out there. Armed with this information, you then go forth and determine which squares in this field of squares are not hiding a mine. Mine Swept is your basic game of Minesweeper where you have this field of squares and when you click on one, it will tell you one of two things: that you just revealed a mine (at which point, it's game over) or how many mines surround this particular square.
